Beyond the expanse of the courtyard and through the umbral veil, the path

becomes treacherous once more. Each step along the ebon stone-lined path

seems fraught with hidden hazards, tricks of perception and subtle

unevenness forcing caution along the trail. The trees that surround the

grove seem to loom oppressively close, their canopy devouring all light from

above and their close-grown proximity brooking no variation from the path

laid by hands unknown. Motes of mana glow violet and blue, hovering in the

air as the only light to guide those who tread the path beyond the umbral

glow of something that beckons to the north.
