The sounds of laughter and kids playing welcomes you as you enter the

spacious and colorful garden, a safe space for the resident children to be

at leisure, shielded from the harshness of the outside world. A large stone

carved fountain in the shape of a simurgh sitting in the tree of life pours

fresh water into a basin near the entrance to the courtyard. A bronze

plaque has been affixed to the front of the basin. Along the east side of

the garden a plot of herbs is being tended to by a number of eager kids.

They are overseen by a Samaritan volunteer who is helping both plants and

children grow.

Near the herbs resides an art station - a handful of easels are occupied by

young artists giggling back and forth to each other as they create artistic

treasures, the colorful flowers that grow freely in the area being their

creative inspirations. At the center of the garden a massive acacia tree

stands proudly, providing shade and comfort for all to enjoy - a pair of

swings are attached to the lower branches of the powerful tree.

Along the south wall is an archway leading into what looks to be the

dormitory. To the north, an archway leads to a classroom with desks all

neatly lined up. A kitchen is to the east, the delicious smells of

flatbreads and soups are calling to you. A small inscription in Thalosian

has been carved into the garden wall. The courtyard garden opens up to the

forum before the Temple of New Thalos to the west.
