Rooms

  Harsh rock juts out haphazardly here.  The smell of rot and decay wafts

through the room.  There are small pools of water on the ground, and the

sounds of dripping that echoes from all around.  The ground is not even, and

seems to be a natural path through the tunnels rather than man-made.  

  Unforgiving craters litter the ground, accompanied by puddles of water. 

The harshness of the conditions are accompanied by a foul scent in the air,

smelling of decay and mold.  There are several spots in which the cave is

merely a small hole, and other spots where it is large and expanse.  Rattled

bones are in piles along the floor, inhabited by small rats.  There is a

painting upon the ceiling of the cave.  

  A darkened cavern stretches out in what seems to be an endless tunnel. 

The jagged rocks that lined the walls of the cave are dangerous to pass by,

and they are covered in a slimy mold.  A small illumination along the wall

allows a minor view of a painting upon the wall of the crude rock.  

  A deep crevice leading into further depths of the cave is here.  There

are no lights, and the smell of mold is apparent.  The sound of heavy drops

hitting the cave floor echoes through the room carelessly.  Smaller rocks

that have fallen or been knocked form the main structure of the cave litter

the floor.  

  Dingy, and unkempt, the caves are currently uninhabited but show the

presence of previous life here.  Along the path there are rotted and mottled

skeletons that have been pushed aside, many without a full mouth of teeth in

the skull (if one remains).  There are no footprints or signs of travel

here, save the small crowed feet of rodents that have marked the trails of

ash and dirt.

the skull (if one remains).  There is a painting along the smoothest section

of the cave wall.  

  The darker patch has turned out to be a cave, and the mist seems to have

left this area of the mountain alone.  You can hear no life here and the

walls glow with an odd cool light.  You are surprised to find you really

need no light source here.  The air smells crisp and cool, very unlike the

air in most caves.  It is incredibly dry and pleasant in here.  

  The cave has gotten so narrow that you are forced to walk on the river,

but the ice is thick and has been here for eons, so it is quite safe.  

  You are in a large cave. The ceiling is lost somewhere above the reach of

your light. The floor, however, is highly illuminated, your light flickering

over several tombstones. Only one is whole, the rest have been shattered by

some savage blow. The remaining tombstone looks disturbingly new...

A small breeze of fresh air enters from the south (probably lost too). Take a

good breath, it may be your last mouthful of air in a long, long time that

others haven't breathed before you.

To the north a small tunnel continues into the mountain.
