Rooms

  A small staircase leads back down to the tavern below.  A short hallway

gives way to three rooms, one to the east, north and south.  A small

painting attempts to decorate the wall, hanging askew and torn on the upper

left corner.  The stone walls are cold, even though the room itself is

comfortable.  Beads hang from the western doorway, and the strange smell of

incense drifts from the room beyond.  

  As you step into the building from the busy road, your eyes adjust to the 

darkness.  Small wall sconces provide the dim light that surrounds the 

entryway and spills into the small tavern.  The low rumble of the sounds 

of many conversations fill the air, as does the smells of the local house 

recipes. 

  A few small round serving tables sit apart from each other, surrounded by 

chairs, all comfortably spaced.  Candles burn on the table, dripping wax 

onto the small plate underneath it.  People sit about, a few of them passed 

out, while the others chat idly.  Serving maids walk about in their low-cut 

and rather skimpy clothing, taking orders and being harrassed. 

  A small door to the north takes you back to the main intersection of the 

dim tavern.  More tables fill the small room, surrounded by wooden chairs 

and filled with people.  The smells of the house recipes linger in the air 

as do the sounds of friendly conversation.  A spilled mug rests quietly on 

the table, surrounded in a thick, pale liquid. 

  The small room doesn't allow for much, as all you notice is a cot, a wash 

basin and a small nightstand.  Dust covers everything, telling you either 

they never clean the place, or its never used.  The sounds of the bar below 

drift up through the floor and from the hallway to the south.  Smells of 

stangnant water and a mildewed cot linger in the air, heavy and strong. 

  There isn't much to the small room other than a worn cot and a small

night table.  A wash basin was hastily built into the west wall, a mass of

wood and porcelain.  The air smells old, as if the place hadn't been

cleaned in a while.  Even the sounds of the bar can be heard faintly below

you muffled and rather annoying.  

  A cot lines the south wall in this small room, saturated with mildew and 

tear marks.  Dust rests atop the poorly built wash basin and covers the 

floor.  A small window allows for some light in the daytime and very few 

stars at night, as it rests gently open, carrying the sounds of the street 

outside.
