Description

  You are standing above the long stairwell that leads back down to the

grand foyer.  The landing extends to the east and an archway leads to

another stairwell to the west.  The floor and the walls are made of a finely

cut slate, which has been polished.

Description

  A long stairwell leads down to the first floor.  Sweet smells float up

the stairs from the kitchen, hidden below.  A dark passage leads to the east

and the landing extends to the west.  The nicely cut stone is a dark gray

and is the base of the floors and the walls.

Second Floor Landing

Description

  The second floor landing opens into a large space that overlooks the

grand hall and the sitting room below, the staircases curling down to reach

the main floor, while another set arches about leading to the third floor. 

The landing spreads out and divides into four wings with the west belonging

to the Lord of the Mansion, the east to the Lady of the house, the southwest

wing is the guest wing and the southeast belonging to the Children's wing, a

banister railing runs along both inner sides of the southwest and southeast

wings, giving a view of the family library that meets at the end of the two

wings, and a view of the solarium down stairs.
