This well-travelled trail through the forest continues to the north and

south. The depth and darkness of the forest are pervasive here, perhaps

something other than just the forces of nature are keeping things dark here.

Just off the path, many fresh cut logs have been piled with the scent of

wood filling the air. Nearby, a raft trader and his apprentice work his

craft with several axes leaning against a grindstone for sharpening while

others stand ready to chop lumber to the sizing he needs. His finished

products are neatly stacked near the trail for those wishing to make a

purchase.
