Rooms

  Warmth and the scents of food emanate through the open doorway of the

hall.  The front of the room is dedicated to long tables lined with benches,

the clean tops furnished with fruit and cheese platters, wine and ale

goblets, water pitchers, and plateware. Cookstaff in Black Citadel garb

bustle within a walled off kitchen separated by a low partition and swinging

door.  



Within the kitchen itself, a long wall-length hearth brackets a series of

cast iron ovens and grills set against the opposing wall.  Large cauldrons

filled with bubbling stews and soups occupy dedicated slots within the

hearth while long spits turn a variety of meats over flames that never die. 

The smell of baking bread likewise emanates from the ovens, over which hang

herbs, curing meats and fish, and pots.  A massive pantry is cordoned off at

the furthest end of the room, but a cracked door reveals an expansive

chamber full of shelves stocked to the brim with foodstuffs.
