Description
This garden space has been dedicated to various plots of herbs. A disproportionately large field of lavender grows in a vast strip not far from the river to the south. Within the sweet smelling field of pale purple, a small marble statuette of the legendary half-woman, half-snake healer known as the Shahmaran has been placed. Other herbs of purposes medicinal and culinary fill the space in an orderly fashion. A number of varieties of basil, mint, cilantro, chives, calendula, oregano, marjoram, and thyme each have their own plot. Every section presents unique patches of color, texture, and aroma as one traverses the herb garden. Bright red flowering acacia trees line the East Ishtar Road bordering the north end of the herb garden. A grove of persimmon trees can be seen to the east, and the shade of the kiwi arbor beckons to the west.
