The land alongside the Ishtar River to the south has been transformed

through a system of irrigation pumps and channels to a lush garden space.

Orange and tangerine trees have been evenly spaced along the river. Dappled

light filters through the green canopy, brightened by fragrant flowers and

developing orange fruit. The shade of the trees and gentle trickle of water

running through the series of dams and chutes creates a cool oasis from the

heated bustle of the city. Twisting grape vines grow over an arched trellis

that exits the garden along the road to the west. The east end of the grove

transforms into a passage of green by a vine covered arbor.
