Atop a Small Hill

Description

  Climbing to the summit of this small rise in the earth affords a

remarkably good view of the surrounding territory.  North and west, as far

as the eye can see, a vast plain of lumpy, red rock shimmers innocuously in

the heat.  To the east is a clear shot to a narrow canyon, the entrance

flanked on either side by the gigantic pillar and a massive boulder.  South

is the area bounded by the cliffs that seem to surround this place.
