  Large matrixes of porous rock make up the unpleasant scenery before you. 

There are occasional boulders along the terrain from where the ancient rock

has begun to crumble.  What was once volcanic activity has slowed to a rocky

halt and has cooled over the years to become a gaseous, rocky mass of

craters.
