The desert plains gradually give way here as the arid landscape is

transformed from inhospitable regions with sparse vegetation to a lush

oasis. An underground aquifer inexplicably wells up from deep within the

land here to create a vibrant ecosystem that provides habitat for a range of

wildlife. The pool of water is deep and cool, offering to quench the thirst

of any who pass beneath the intense desert sun. Within the fathoms of the

pool a formation of darkly hued amethyst sheds a mysterious illumination.

The water flows over the red sandstone at the edge of the oasis beside a an

acacia tree to create a gentle fall as it leads off to the north.
