A Barren Wasteland

Description

  Cracked, rusty red rock stretches ever onward to the distant horizon. 

The pillar rises into the dry, clear sky in the distance, seemingly but a

needle.  A cruel, unrelenting sun batters every inch of this wasteland,

searing away all possibility of life or even shade.  The very air itself

seems to bake here, with the constant breeze only serving to strip away any

moisture it brushes against, leaving a fine coating of dust in its wake.

A Barren Wasteland

Description

  Stars innumerable shine above this barren plain.  Cracks in the very rock

make footing hazardous at best, catching the occasional misplaced step

painfully.  All the heat of the day has vanished, gone almost immediately

after the setting of the sun, leaving a chill that forces its way into the

bones with a nearly practiced ease.  The unending wind only makes the cold

that much worse as it chaps any exposed skin in its constant flight.
